On-Going Work!!

Mary & Mela are home - welcome back! Its been great to hear what they've been doing - brought back all the memories of my two trips! I just wish I could have gone with them. Its so moving hear them speaking about the children & staff at Kanlungan, about their faith and their joy.
But the work of Streetlight goes on. We're now getting ready for the next visit to go out in April - a group of about 12 people from Milton Keynes leave the UK on 5th April for about 10 days.

M&M's Homeward Bound! :-(

Well ,we can't believe our trip is coming to a close .It has been an amazing two weeks with more blessings than we can say. We have seen and done so much that our heads are full to over flowing!! Yesterday Sol took us to a drug rehabilitation unit in Bulakan about one and a half hours from city centre. There we meet Dr. Ramirez (Ramirez is Mela's maiden name but not a relative!!). He's the founder and works hard to help his B.D.R.F.(Bulakan Drug Rehabilitation Foundation) family. They welcomed us warmly and even sang to us (all 59 of them) Mela and I were in tears as they sang with such passion. We told them about the Beacon and the work we do, Mela spoke in Tagalog to them about how special they were to God and I was in tears again!! In the evening Sol took us to the Mall of Asia (its so big it would take a week to walk around!). We were just in time to see the fire work display as we came out of the mall. We thought it was for us but apparently it happens every Friday night. Tomorrow we are cooking again (by popular request!!) Guess what we are doing a Beacon special minced beef and potatoes.
